would anyone recommend one for carp fishing? im not really looking for omc style baiting needles etc, more general purpose. guessing you cant crimp with any of them ?

I have the skeleton one in my bag.... no specific reason other to be able to turn and cut a hook should I get it impaled in myself. However its become massively useful for a multitude of small tasks that I might run into when fishing.

Yeah they are worth a look for sure.

Sidekick ,never go fishing without mine..sharpens up lovely using piranha sharpener..

I use the pliers a lot removing long brambles in swims ,the little saw ,saves going back to the car for stihl folding saw.. ..

You're probably from the UK, regarding knifelaws, you be best of with a Leatherman Rebar Knifeless. If that doesn't matter, still the Rebar, but the normal Version.
I would stay away from the Wingman and Sidekick, the tools on them are not very good.
Maybe the Wave would be another option, mainly for the diamond file for quick hook sharpening.
The Signal is a good Outdoor Tool as well

I used to travel to the USA a lot and bought Leatherman in small and large sizes and then Gerber multitools that to me Gerber are the best

Gerber diesel is a great tool, the amount of times its come in handy is remarkable, the saw is savage, the blades and scissors are excellent but the pliers are better than anything else i own and they have side cutters so handy for hooks and lead loops

Got a stainless one can't remember the name but it's very simple. Pliers, saw, couple of blades,, couple of screw drivers and the only thing hing I don't use a bottle opener. I don't go fishing without it.

looking at gerber truss

Both great but my personal preference is leatherman over gerber. Ive been using a titanium leatherman for over 20 years and still going strong.

Rocking the leatherman sidekick, it follows me everywhere.
Use it quite often on site, good quality tool to have.
It has more than enough functions for my needs.
Very satisfied.

I use the leatherman Skeletool, it's one of their more basic designs but very functional.
Great blade, pliers, side cutters, screwdrivers.
