Interested In knowing people's opinions on getting buckets of water lobbed over you when they catch a personal best ??

Mine is I think it's a bl@@dy daft fad and unsafe when the fish is being held . Could easily flip and get dropped ..

I couldn't agree more, probably started off by a tackle company on either there free dvds year's ago or on YouTube, thank god I keep myself to myself so very few know what I catch, I'm not one of these who needs a pat on the back and certainly don't want water throwing at me

I just don't get it ....... especially in winter .. its the fish safety .. all it takes is it to flip and you drop it ..
I just watched a clip of a fella fishing on the boards at Drayton with a 21lb pb and loads of buckets come raining in ...
I'm like you I'm glad I fish alone 99% of the time ..

I think it's pretty daft too , I also fish mainly alone and keep myself to myself , I've never had a soaking for a PB and it will stay this way.

Bloody stupid idea imo,if it's at end of a session and no fish in arms then it's upto them I guess

Agree, don't get it. Perhaps aborad on a fishing holiday after you've returned the fish / during a water shot but not on the bank.

I either fish alone or with one mate and we've made a pact not to do that nonsense.

I think the fish safety pov is the best reason why you shouldn't do it, never mind Weils disease/other, but if you're convinced you're o.k then fill your boots

Personally if someone tried it on me they'd be getting followed (after the fish was returned safely) and getting a swift kick in the nads

Can't see point in doing it what happens if you swallow some of that water and there's rats and other vermin about as well as fish safety too,no thank you I also fish mainly on my own with the occasional once a year session with a friend but we fish different types of waters anyway but we'd never do anything like that

There seems to be a growing trend of pictures on Socal media being more important than fish safety. Mats placed on concrete paths when there is a nice grass spot right next to the path. Or the 2 fish on the mat . Or even worse 2 fish in there arms. Nash seem to be the worse for this . But they are not alone. I don't understand with modern camera filming equipment why they need to keep them till daylight.

I agree .. its nice to get a good shot of the prize but thesafety of the fish is more important than the picture . You hear of stories of fish being kept out of the water too long just so they can get good video footage and pics ..

I bet there's a social media post of someone tipping their own bucket of water over their own heads with the fish at their feet on the mat

It so absurd you know it has to have been done...odd world

EDIT, and then there will be the one....have you seen what the old fogies on the CF have been saying again...they're so out of touch

I find it very cringy to be honest. When people do it whilst holding a fish aswell is just rediculous in so many ways.
