I'm dew for a upgrade soon. Always had Samsung for years on android. But twice now I've had Samsung phones that have gone wrong under warranty. 1st time had to get trades standard in involved. Found Samsung customer service is shocking. So I'll never go back to Samsung again for any products. I'm looking at the apple phones. The more top of range phones. Question is what's your thoughts about apples against android phones? As never had apple stuff. Any info would be great. Thanks.

Not what your asking but I've always been a Samsung user, simply don't like apple.
I'm considering the Vivo X 100 Pro, simply for the better camera tho warranty worries me as not that big in the U.K. The Xiami 14 Ultra also looks quite good but again not big in the U.K

I am all Apple (macbook, ipad, iphone).
Simple reason is horrible support for Windows and Android after it's new. Had too many blue-screen-of-death problems with Windows during software updates, and no updates for Android. Whereas, Apple updates just work and are free for years. My 10-year old Macbook is only just now out eligibility for updates; however it looks and runs like new, has behaved faultlessly, and will serve me for more years.
For a phone alone, I might just go for Android. Last years models are discounted (Iphones don't tend to get discounts) and the cameras on some models are excellent (my son's old Samsung easily outperforms my Iphone Pro (which is supposed to have the best camera in the Apple range)).

Not sure how often you replace your phone but 7 years software support on the S24 now, previous models only 5 so if a older model even less.
I've been keeping a tight eye on the deals for the S23 & S24 this last month, very little diff between the 2 of note price wise. ID mobile had all the best in stock and pre order deals and thet varied a lot throughout the month of April as colours went out of stock.
I think the cheapest S24 Ultra I saw worked out at £1094/24months, S24 was £560 cash but import.

I've been a Samsung user for several years and have just got a Google Pixel 8 with ID mobile, great deal and the phone has been spot on so far. Also get 30gb EU data roaming included.

Apple phone are more user friendly but less customisable, Android are far more customisable and not as locked as apple.
The advantage with apple is that the operating systems are designed to be used on one their own hardware so its more refined and better performance. Android has to be used on multiple different hardware platforms hence why they can have more problems. Same with Windows on computers vs IOS on mac books etc.
At the end of the day the differences are very negatable to the common phone user... its more of a preference thing.
Personally for me with phones - Apple all the way, got a iphone 15 pro max and am happy with it. I also have a android work phone which does the job but hasn't sold me on changing any time soon

There are 2 things that Apple do thats not needed too often, 1: when you backup an iphone then need to restore, everything comes back, apps, contacts and whatever was on the phone, unless Android have changed they don't do it,
2: if and when you change your phone you place your old phone near the new one follow the on screen instructions and all your data transfers from the old phone to the new one, I'm not sure about this but I think an iphone can get data from an Android phone as well, but as said I

I know we're all different but 1 of the reasons I like the S series phones is because they aren't like Apples I phone bricks, (well up to my S9 anyway).
So, thank you Samsung for making the S24 just like a brick, really not very keen at all, that said the S9 can be a slippery sod

So Android was doing all of this before apple, I don't think so, I had Android phones and investigated the options for a FULL backup it wasn't there ever

Yes. Years ago I had cheapo Motorola phones for work and you placed them back to back and they would transfer everything across. The cloud has also been around for yonks. Certainly isn't something apple invented, and I highly doubt they were first.
