Been a while since I used braid at long range, is there anything new on the market that's good for long range casting?
Last time round I used Whiplash, but never got on with it, 20lb I had frap up on me all the time, I moved to 25lb and it was a little better behaved, but I never had confidence.
Are there any sinking braids now that cast well, I'm willing to scrub a few yards off for a sinking braid.

PowerPro still the one for me. I use the 40lb .33 up to 100 yards. I need to drop down to the .28 or .23 any further but you might be fine if you're a big chucker.
Not a sinking braid as such but you can definitely get it to sink.

Suffix 832. Sinks, used more or less all of them for range fishing be it on a spod or fishing rods, 832 sinks, and goes as good as power pro, whiplash etc.

Sufix 832 in 0.28 size is ok for casting and will sink if encouraged. I use it as I got some ridiculously cheap from a lure shop. I tend to take no notice of the breaking strain but go on the diameter, although how they measure that is a mystery to me, and the thicker you go the better behaved it is.

Not tried it myself but isn't Berkley Black velvet considered a bit of a casting braid? Seen on a few spools around Rockford by all accounts.

I've used suffix 832 in 20lb found it great a huge improvement in distance from 10lb esp synchro and a lot stronger. It is neutral buoyancy I found it will sink eventually but if there's any wind you will end up with a big bow in the line if you pull any slack off trying to sink it. I have been using a leader of thinking anglers Sbx braid to help sink from the rig back which I think helps.
The latest version of Fox Submerge. A sinking braid that I can comfortably cast 35 wraps using Torrix TE 12' 6" rods. I'm using the 0.25mm version there is a thinner one at 0.20mm. Been using it for a few months and no frap ups at all so far. Probably the best all round braid I have ever used. For out and out distance Korda Marker braid is a game changer, but of course it floats.
