What's the lightest spod rod and reel combo? Don't need extreme distance, only up to 100yds.

I had a custom made free spirit spod rod a few years back, coupled with a Ci4 ultegra and whilst light and very expensive, the retrieve can be slow and a bit annoying. I've tried a few top end reels as spod reels and they just don't match a workhorse spod reel, even if they are several hundred grams lighter.
If you are not using big spod or spombs don't rule out a stiffer standard carp rod for distances less than 100yds, it'll be lighter.

Ive had a few top end spod rods over the years and buy far the lightest was a century stealth graphene spod rod. It felt like 3.25 carp rod.

How did the Stealth Graphene perform ?
For what it's worth , I recently upgraded to a Fox Spomb rod, with Avid Spod reel and find it easier going than the CTX and Emblem combo I habe had for some years......

Never used it so cant comment on its performance and sold it a month ago on ebay. I was amazed at how light it was though. The graphene carp rods are superb so i have no doubt the spod rod is just as good.

10' CTX SPM with an Emblem BR25A will do 100yds in the right hands - might be a stretch with a large spomb but def doable with a medium / small. . . .I find myself using this set up waay more than my 13' SLite SPM as its significantly lighter and easier to be accurate at 50-80yds range . .
