I have started on a new water and dug out all my old hook baits from the fridge. While fishing I got to thinking and some of them must be 3 or 4 years old as I had a clear out then. They seem to smell ok to me even the glugged boilies but I am not a fish. I have a couple of pots of mainline and sticky pop ups and a mix of ABS including glugged freezer baits. How long do you keep them ?

If they smell o.k I wouldn't hesitate to use them, I have used baits, glugged and none 4 or 5 years old. I actually glug a master batch and keep dipping into it as I need, I'd imagine most are at least 2 or 3 years at end of use. I do store mine in the fridge and at cool rt. The only baits I'd watch for are fish oil based ones, they can go rancid.
If it makes you doubt in any way don't use them, confidence is everything

I have asked this question from several makers. The replies range from ; "If they smell ok, use them". To " On no account use them after they are 6 months old ".. Bearing in mind hookbaits aren't meant to be ingested, I'd say if they smell and look like they should , then use them. If not, in the bin.

Thank you guys. Maybe I should try using them instead of just taking them out for a walk to the bank and back.

Ive got some 12 year old B5 in glug, wouldnt hesitate in using them just in the same way i wouldn't hesitate in drinking a 40 year old port, some things get better with age.
