Just bought an Audi A6 avant and it had the AdBlue tank next to the diesel cap.
Has anyone else used this? How often do you need to fill it and where is the best place to buy it from?

It will tell you when to top it up a light comes on the dashboard
All modern diesels have it
Really doesn't matter where you get it from. I've used Morrisons bp shEll and Sainsbury's and esso
My van is a 22plate and I think I've put 5 x 10l bottles in in total on 37k miles

It's all the same stuff so buy it from wherever. They don't use a great deal at all. Just make sure you wipe the filler neck down before you fill up as ad blue crystalises around the filler neck and you will wash it down into the system.

If it's a new car I'd cover my back and make sure you buy the right iso number stuff so there's no come back on you, most of it is the right stuff, check your manual.
The low level warning will vary from car to car, on ours it's 1500 miles, then there's usually a lower limit of a few hundred where the warning will flash very frequently.
Personally I keep mine well topped up most of the time to avoid any potential for crystals.

Get to a remap specialist and get it removed from the ECU along with the EGR valve.......You can thank me later....... 
10 litres in our works Transporters gives around a 5 to 6 thousand mile range, just buy online for cheapest deals it's all sheep's piss anyway.

Adblue systems are not the most reliable and repairs are not cheap.Most modern cars are run by a computer and as Wayne has said you can have the adblue system deleted from the memory which means the car doesn't know it's there. You'll no longer receive any error messages or have to top it up and it can be done for a couple of hundred quid....cheap when you thnk a AB injector can cost the same and a AB tank, on my car for eg is £800.
Your car will not be as eco friendly and will produce more of the toxic gases the adblue reduces, but will still pass it's mot and no one will be the wiser. I was advised it could invalidate your insurance should it be discovered but it's highly unlikely to be, so that's the risk.
At present in the U,K cars are not spot tested for gas emissions or checked against manufacturers specs.
Problems, Imagine this in your wildest dreams from my searches on the net. Manufacturers knowing of design defects in the AB systems but not recalling. Imagine faults that can be cleared by a selling garage of 2nd hand cars but they might come back on the next refill, and if your unucky enough that'll be after your 3 month warranty has run out...surely not.
Problems I've heard of, Ab tanks splitting, faulty AB injectors, faulty wiring looms sending random messages (like you've got no AB left and you won't be able to start your car in x hundred miles), badly designed hoses splitting and in the manufacturers wisdom designing the system so to replace the hose you have to remove the AB tank
And one I really don't like the sound of, faulty AB injectors destroying
/reducing the Catalytic convertor by spraying too much Ab into the system. it's easy to spot a faulty/jammed open ABV as the exhaust will look like it's got snow around it, thick white deposit (adblue), if your car doesn't tell you it's fauty,
So you can see why people are chosing to have the AB system deleted from the memory.
Don't start me on EGR's, did well on mine 16 years/120000 miles but in the early days of the DV6 engine that fabulous valve and faulty pick up tubes to turbos lead to engines dying at a very young age.

Cost me £200 for a stage 1 remap and EGR delete on my 3.2l Ford Ranger Wildtrak, gave me 40 more Bhp and torque went from 470 - 560 nm.
Has also increased my MPG

It's a modern version of Pat fluid which needed topping up in older diesels. Unless you fancy mapping out the DPF or allowing it to get blocked up completely, it's a necessary evil.
