Ive just got a 150 ev and intend to get the overwrap for it. As it comes with an infill which has mozzie mesh, is there any advantage in buying the mozzie infill, or is it just a gimmick to get me to spend another £90. Any users on here ?yay or nay to buying it.

Not a gimmick imo - the magnetic closure is a great idea and works well - in fact, the majority of the time I just use the mozzie mesh - even when it rains - only exception would be if the wind was coming into the front of the bivvy.
The social cap is really good aswell - especially for longer stays and of course if your swims are big enough for it.
Not sure if you've tried putting up your 150 yet - theres a knack to it as they're so big. Im 6'2 with arms like an orangutang and I still struggle with it. The trick is to put a couple of pegs in the back first, and then spread the front round - will be a bit stiff too the first couple of times you try and put it up, but the material must stretch/relax a little as it gets easier - but I'd recommend practicing putting it up at home if you haven't tried it already.

I don't have the Tempest 150 but I've owned the Pio 150 and have an Ultralite 100 both of which have the same magnetic mozzie infill . . .personally find the mozzie infill a bit limiting and only really use in the height of summer when I know the weather is going to be rain free.
Pros -
Lightweight (compared to the standard infill)
Privacy (closed front infers 'do not disturb')
Light (still lets in daylight) and feels like your fishing open fronted with a bit of protection
Cons -
Requires a super flat swim to set up properly
Can be a bit of of faff to escape in a hurry if fully pegged down
Not great in changeable (warm) weather if the wind changes direction and it rains in bursts etc
Mozzies (a bit of mozzie protection but arguably you are trapping them inside if one does get in!)
On the whole I generally use my standard infill for most sessions - its much more versatile in that you can close the hatches in the event of a down pour and zip the door up / fish clear window to let light in which I generally prefer to letterbox in daylight hours. You can also fish with all mozzie panels exposed and the door closed if need be. Most of the time I fish door open and mozzie panels exposed - if it rains you can then batten the hatches accordingly!

Thanks, yes im 5'8" and it took me three goes before i got it to fan out fully and pull the lever over. I'll try pegging the back down next time.

Thanks i always fish with the door open when possible, driving rain and swarms of mozzies, being the exception. I think I'll stick to the built in mozzie mesh for now. I suppose it would be worth getting if going abroad regularly. Where you know it's not going to rain , and insects will definitely be a big problem.
