I'm after some new rods 6ft what's the best ones to get in guessing higher test curve the better

I have the dwarfs at 6' and last month I had a 23,24 and lost one and just landed a 14.5 as well I think test curve on these are 3.5tc and the are cork handles too,great little rods

Why the higher the TC the better? Short ,high TC rods are like broomsticks. I'm assuming you want them so short for using in the edge, so something softer would surely be much better?

Yeah wrong way round. That's just the marketing hype. Softer the better. As soft as your needs require.

I don't really see the point in 10ft rods above 3lb

I have a 6ft 3.5lb rod that I use for donking from a boat. They do have uses.

But surely any old butt section of a rod will do for that purpose? Or even not using a rod at all, and doing it by hand ?

If I was using a short rod I'd be looking for something with a TC of 2lb or less.
You can put much more pressure on a fish that you can with a broom handle ...

When fishing on the pin on the river for big chub on light hooklinks and tiny 18 hooks it's amazing how much pressure you can apply to steer them from the snags, so much more pressure and importantly control.

You can do it how you like, I use a stiff 6ft rod and it works for me. I suppose you could wrap 40 ft of braid round your hand rather than using a reel? That would be lovely, pulling a lump of weed up in the winter.

I've only done it the once, many years ago in France. Didn't use a rod and it wasn't too bad
