Was talking to a guy the other day who had a bucket full of mixed size black feed pellets.
I asked him if they were halibut pellets but he replied that they were normal course pellets that he had turned black by soaking in Salmon oil and Tiger nut oil.
Now I have used both these oils separately in the past on course pellets but it's never turned them black.
Do any of you turn normal course pellets black in a similar way without using a dye?

So plenty of salmon oil on its own will turn course pellets black?

They sound to me like a normal trout pellet then soaked in more oil.

guess it depends on your interpretation of black

Black feed pellets equals HALIBUT ?
No black pellets equals a pretend Halibut pellet the real Halibut pellets were a dark brown very high quality with between 48 and 52% protein ,but you cant buy them now the companies make as cheap a pellet as they can make it black with dye and every one thinks they are Halibut pellets.

I've been using these, they are very dark

I also use the Krill this company sells which are a lighter brown...making these 'best' pellets appear darker when I mix them
