A mate of mine is looking to get back into carp fishing.
Iv'e got some bits to give him but missing 3x 12ft carp rods and 3x alarms with possibly a receiver.
He dosen't want to spend a fortune so is looking for any recommendations??
I have said probably better buying better make but 2nd hand rods but alarms not so sure??
Any thoughts??

Fox Mini Micron alarms are super cheap these days and pretty solid. Not sure how much the receiver set is now but you pick up the standard non remote versions for around £15 a pop.
Think I've seen good reviews of the Sonic Remote Alarms and Pro Logic but haven't seen them so maybe do a search.

Shimano TX2 rods and Gardner ATT bite alarms.
I can't see anything beating this for VFM and quality/reliability.

I don't personally own these but a mate has some prologic C alarms they were less than £100 for 3 heads and a reciever , he's had them best part of 2 years with no issues

Depending on what you mean by budget. In terms of the cheapest decent quality I would suggest the Prologic BAT+ alarms (been using a set down my dodgy park lake for the last 3 years and not missed a beat for the money) and the Daiwa Vertice rods (not used but heard very good reviews). For a bit more cash I can also recommend the Fox Mini Microns (they are my back up alarms) and Sonik Dominator rods (I have a set of the 10ft ones and they are great to play fish on)
