I have had my current bedchair (JRC I believe) for many years. Every year I tighten the elastics but I think it's probably had it now and it is causing me some real backache whenever I use it for a weekend. So I am in the market for a new one. I am not concerned about price but I don't want a sleep system instead preferring one that allows a sleeping bag to be folded inside. I also need one that is probably quite firm and can be raised quite high off the ground. I see a lot of good things written about the solar CH08 and SPC tech but I am totally open to any recommendations? Cheers.

IMHO look no further than THE SOLAR CH08
can get one with a decent discount if you shop around too saw it on Ebay £159.99 delivered not sure if thats the best price though
its got the comfort & firmness and more important to me personally one of the best heights too Leg Height Min. and Max. 40cm/50cm

My sp c-tec folds flat. Best bed ive owned by a country mile. They have no elastic to tighten so no sag. They are very firm though if you sleep on your side so can put pressure on your shoulder. If you sleep on your front or back theres nothing that comes close to it.

+1 on the solar sp c tech its that good I have a standard and wide version - best bed Ive had by a long stretch and Ive had more than most - I use a Sim with either and think they are great

I've got the Solar SP C tech and a couple of Wychwood Tacticals . . .tbf theres not much in it comfort wise but I don't bother with a SIM on the Solar and prefer the dimensions (the standard Wychwood is actually pretty big) - the solar quality and leg mechs are waay superior however its still struggles to fold flat with a Gardner Bag and cover insitu which annoys me - that and the fact that its a lot heavier!

I looked at the solar series myself when I purchased my bedchair. Unfortunately for me the lack of feet support by the end of the bed (I sit on the edge a lot) and the lack of a 5 season sleeping bag system made me look elsewhere. Ended up buying a Nash MF60 wideboy and very happy with it. Apart from the weight which is a lot and sheer size of it (which doesnt bother me due to power barrow and big tent) it is the most comfortable bedchair I have ever slept on.
I would also add the bed gets extremely hot during the summer months due to the mattress but the liner Nash sells sorts that out for a few quid

Many thanks everyone. I've opted for the CH08 just because I am a side sleeper and it appears to be slightly less form than the SPC Tech. I also got it for £149.99 from club 2000 so a right bargain!
