Chaps, been eyeing up these new mozi zappers, keep seeing the Wolf one about. My question is how good are they? And which one should I go for?

I have 2 Wolf Zappers but they are no better than the cheapo's you can pick up.
They all do the same job and do work to an extent but pick up a cheap one.

My wolf one does what it's meant to do, I don't know the advertised battery life but I used it in the bedroom ATM.
Put it on around 2230 and get up around 0730 and it's dead, so at a guess 6-8hrs battery life.
Do the other brands have similar battery life?

No idea if I've got the newer version (bought last year) but I turn it on about an hour before I plan on settling down and leave it on all night and I wake up to it still going strong. I don't tend to use the light on it though and I believe that drains the battery far qucker

Is that just with the zapper light? I had the newer version only lasted 12 hours on zapper had to send back to shop as was faulty. I ended up with a cheap trakker version for £11 of eBay

I only use the zapper on it.

I have the wolf one but it zaps as many moths as it does mozzies - life systems portable mozzie killer unit is more effective IMO so use both inconjucntion with each other

I agree I have been using one of these light zappers since 1999
back then when I bought one it took 6 x U2 batteries (d type) heavy as hell you could hear the crack a swim away at least it was like a gun shot !
and mostly the insect would burst into flames too think legislation stopped them making that one lol I have had lots of different versions since
and come to the conclusion they obviously ATTRACT insects and not all get zapped
great if you bung it in your bivvy and zipp up a mozzy mesh
but an open fronted shelter I think there are much better options
like a Thermacell or even better if you can get one a life systems portable mozzie killer unit even a GERANIUM Mozzy coil is super efficient not like the crappy normal one though that give off toxic fumes and can give you bad head aches etc
