Can anyone recommend some kind of storage bag? I have a Nikon D5500, an external flash and a few batteries. Tripod already has a dedicated pocket on another bag.

I use the TA camera bag, for a 600d with 2 lenses, batteries, lights and remotes.

It's a nice compact bag

Look at dedicated camera bags such as LowePro... loads of choice to suit whatever you want to fit in, well made, good protection and not expensive

I use an Avid A Spec Tech pack these days - takes Camera / Lenses / Headtorches / Tablet / Power Packs / Battery charging dock / RM Multilight / Mini Rino / Tufty torch / laser and all other electrical bits. Hardcase top acts as a great little bivvy table and external USB ports ideal for plugging into 2x 30k mh battery packs . .

+1. Mines old now but I think I've got the LowePro Nova 2, like the link below (can't get to it at the mo). Main camera fits centre with a 35 or 55 on and still enough room at the bottom of the middle chamber for a filter slide case, main flash either left or right and a larger lens in the last of the 3. I keep my batts in the external pocket, 6 with room to spare, other stuff in the lid pocket, loads of room basically but still nice and compact ish, for the used price, no brainer.
