Hi gents,
I'm looking for a new lightweight bedchair for overnighters. I've had a wychwood tactical X for a few years now, with a SIM, but the mattress is now tissue thin and I can feel the bars too much through it. My mate has given me a Flatliter compact mk2, which is much better quality but is rock solid and as I'm a side sleeper with 2 dodgy discs, I'll end up having to fish the rest of my days from the disabled swim!
How does the duralite compare in comfort to the flatliter? I also was interested in the Avid benchmark lite for its memory foam mattress. I know people say that it is poor quality, but to be honest I'm lucky if I do 10 nights a year, so I'm sure it'll last me.

I did not rate the duralite at all,I thought it was comfy at first but soon found it to restrictive.It felt flimsy on the hinges and the legs at each end did not lock into place like on the flatliter and flatliner.I would avoid and look at something else

I've had a Duralite for a couple of years, and quite like it. Don't find it restrictive at all, but then I use a loose sleeping bag, and don't zip it up.

I rate my Duralite very high but if you are a big block dont buy the sleep system, i'm 1m73 and 74 kg, it is perfect for me i have the 1 and 3.season bag + Fox cover
My previous bedchair was the Trakker levelite oval tail, i preff the Duralite, Solar Ch 08 and sp c tec are also top beds, have had them all the Solar beds matrass are firmer, i preff the high-density matrass.
Avid: no idea if the new models are good quallity the old ones where trash.

The duralite is roughly the same dimensions as my wychwood and flatliter compact, and although I'm 5'11 and 90kg, size wise they're ok, especially for single nights. I had a look at the duralite in Angling Direct tonight and must say it seemed much more padded than I expected. Had a look at the Trakker mk2 oval too and loved it, but it kind of goes against my light and compact idea.
I'm wondering if the 3 season bag from my flatliter will fit the duralite. Then I can save a few quid and just get the bedchair on its own.

I'm about the same weight as you and an inch shorter. I find the Duralite very comfortable but everyone's different.
No idea if the bag fits, as I've said before I prefer a separate bag.

I'm 6ft and 100kg,xxl across chest and arms and like I say the sleepsystem allowed very limited movement,I sold it pretty quickly

I find it very comfortable for sleeping on my side and front. I have pulled the cords tight and with tie wraps attached the ends to the frame, instead of leaving them free to the mattress.
Admittedly it is heavier than some, but I don't often have to barrow or carry my gear as I normally unload behind my swim.
If its on the barrow it is not a problem.
