Got a 2003 mini cooper and the steering has started going heavy after a bit of driving. Fluid is all good, so thinking it's the power steering pump.

Are they easy to replace or is it a garage job?

Try you tube, good for most things, sure there will be some content that can help

Maybe worth a look if it's not been done?

Biggest tip since you are a teacher, you will find it near the front end of the car

If the underside of mine looks like that then sod it!

The recall was 2015 so I might be a bit late ..

Try spraying some lubricant on steering coupling first.
