I am thinking of buying the drennan specialist 2 rod hard case I will be using okuma inc 6000 reels does anyone know if they will fit does anyone use any similar size reels with this case

I've got the soft version of this (originally for my barbel rods) and it originally took my Shimano 5010 GTs no probs; since then I've swopped to larger reels for barbel (Emblem BR25A ) and they were a tight fit so now use a sling; currently using it with soft stalking / floater rods with SS2600 reels and they fit fine.
If it helps I did have the Drennan hardcase version / match variant (for my pellet wag rods) but it struggled with my Diawa Ninja 4000As so I ditched it and returned to using soft individual sleeves for these as well . . .
TBF the biggest issue is maybe not the reel space but what butt rings your rods are - all the rods that I use in these soft double or single specialist sleeves are 30mm max - (I've also got the 10' short single specialist sleeves for my 10' carp rods!) so if you've got 40mm+ rings you may struggle anyway irrespective of hard or soft!

I was going to use it for my barbel rods I've just bought for good protection as I have the drennan quiver the rings wouldn't be a problem in the case it's the reels I think I will leave it thanks for feedback

the nash subterfuge hi protect are excellent. Fit big pits. Albeit pricey.

TBF I've found the Specialist 3rod slings a lot easier for barbel trips - decent tips tops (NGT) and Drennan reel pouches will protect your rods/reels irrespective of reel/butt ring size - you can also carry a decent brolly / storm poles which you cannot do with the specialist double sleeves . . .

I have already got all that set up reel cases tip tops brolly rods ect I was looking only at the drennan case for more protection for 2 new higher tc barbel rods

I have a drennan 3 rod sling with reel protectors tip tops which I've had for years on carp gear as well I've just got rid of protectors ect on carp gear and got a sleeve much better i think it is a lot of faffing around with quiver when packing up a sleeve put rods in zip up done
