My ageing cook kit had seen better days (food constantly sticking / lids warped / fold out handles falling off / a general balancing act even on a bulin stove) so I bit the bullet and bought the Compact Marble Cookset (smallest version) and a lid as it looked the most appropriate size for 24-48hr sessions. . .

All I can say is - it works! Using dedicated plastic sporks / utensils the non stick surface works perfectly and the rubber sealed lid means the gas can be turned right down when simmering etc. The larger (frying pan) is used primarily as a plate to eat off as I'm usually a one pot chef on the bank but it has already done a couple of fry ups / sausage and egg sarnies which have seen a welcome return over the usual pastry / porridge in a pot brunches.

Was initially concerned about the rather heavy, oversized clamping handle but it actually works superbly and is a godsend on uneven banks when you can't get the stove perfectly flat allowing you to cook without the handle intact. Its really easy to attach / detach (without fear of knocking off the pan / spilling the contents) so using the pans as eating bowls is also easy.

A bit weighty and expensive compared to my previous kit but performs superbly - also cleans v easily with a single baby-wipe; what's not to like? Absolutely recommended kit for bankside nosh . . .

Been looking for some new cooking gear for a while and am continually blinded by Ridgemonkey - this seems like a viable alternative. Cheers for the review.

I too was blinded by the sexiness of spankmonkies cooking gear (love their kettle but my blackened primus is still going strong at over 20yrs old and is therefore lucky) so ended up buying their plastic 'Q-lock utensil' set over the trakker one to scratch the itch as there were more items and they folded up nice and compact lol
