Im thinking to buy some Hi S 10ft 3.25 for all round fishing. No extreme distances needed and i don't fish heavy bags or leads often at all. I want it to be good for playing fish but also accurate/easy to cast at short/medium distance. I keep coming back to the Hi S 3.25, is anyone using this rod that can give a review? Or any suggestions? Im going to the tackle shop in a week or so to have a look. Up to now I've been using 9ft and 12ft rods but want to settle on one “all round” set. Thanks in advance.

Do you think Hi S 2.75 would still cover me on the of occasion i need/want to use bags or 6/8oz leads on rivers? Perhaps 3lb?

I recently tried a friends 10ft hi-s I ended up going for some 10ft Harrison aviators just felt better in my opinion and free spirit customer service is terrible (first hand experience after using there rods for years)

My other half had a set of the 10 foot 3.25 rods. I thought they were very stiff, difficult to cast and not great for playing fish.
I would go a lighter test curve.
Personally I would go for some custom built Harrison torrix or aviators for that money. I got some 11' 3.25 torrix and they are great.
Have a look at Lee Preston custom rods

I have a set of the 10ft hi-s the first ones they did so I think 2 3/4 and I like them, I also indulged in some custom torrix 10ft 2 3/4 what I will say whilst both are brilliant, if budget is a consideration, I would not spend big money on a 10ft rod.
For me big money is around blank recovery, and quality, degradation of carbon, I don't see this as an issue on small rods, they are never going to be for distance, many cheaper rods that are 10ft (fox, wychwood, korum etc) are made on decent blanks, play fish beautifully and are a 1/3rd price.
10 foot in my opinion are brilliant rods, but given the waters I fish they could never be my only set as the compromise is just too great.

I did look at the aviators and wasn't overly impressed with them, the build quality wasnt as good as the Hi S in my opinion.

I have a set of HI S 126 3.25 and have had them a few years now after owning 3s and 3.5 theese are the perfect all rounder for me and my style of fishing the extra 6' is a god send when casting, enough grunt to punch bags etc but given your needs I wouldnt suggest they are what you need or would suit
Personally I would go for a set of ES 2.75 brilliant players rods and ideal for the scenario you describe imho
