As per the title I'm trying to reduce the condensation on the roof of my bevy and was wondering is it worth spending the extra £80 for the full skull cap wrap or does the skull cap reduce the condensation on its own

Any advise welcome

With the cap you will still get condensation around the sides,the full wrap will reduce it all over.The full wrap is better to keep the bivvy cooler in the summer and warmer in winter too

The best way to avoid condensation is to keep the front open. Then you don't need a wrap or cap.

I have the 100T and use the Skull Cap Wrap all year round.

Far better than just the Skull Cap.

I have the fromt open year round and still get condensation. It cant be eliminated, but steps cam be taken to reduce it

I use a Tempest Brolly year round without a front/cap/wrap/hat or groundsheet. No issues at all with condensation. People try and make out that spending loads of money on heavy Aquatexx materials or buying vapour shields or any other nonsense will fix it, but it's simple physics.

If the air inside your shelter is wetter and warmer than that outside then you will get condensation inside. If you have your shelter open and without a front then the air inside and outside is pretty much the same and you won't. Simple.

I have had the brolly 100 for two years now and is some condition would get bad condensation even with the door open in winter especially if it had been raining got the skull cap warp this winter and it has solved all the problems worth the extra in my opinion

I read this chuckling to myself at 0630 this morning, sat under my open fronted V2 tempest with no skull cap and condensation covering pretty much the whole shelter

Yours, and my experience is clearly wrong guys. Please yield and bow down to Beyonces knowledge of basic physics

You lot must be mouth breathers, steaming up the inside of your own shelters

Sometimes no matter what you will get it.
Everything is wet unhooking mat, rods, outside of bivvy. Despite no rain

Also ones attitude. I started off on mums sun lounge and a golf umbrella
So a little condensation doesnt bother me. So I went just for the skull cap.

No extra time, bit of a peak, hardly any need to even zip in a front.

When using either ultralite or tempest with skull caps fitted the 'only' place they usually suffer from condensation is on the inside face of the infill (if you use one) - have never suffered / been woken from the dreaded brolly 'drips' above the bedchair with skull cap in place. . . ever

I just got a Tempest 100 Bivvy with skull cap wrap. The wrap came with it for a good price.

And I read someone on a different forum mention what seems like a valid point. Using the full wrap all the time then your main expensive bivvy is not in the elements all the time so less wear and tear.

Got a v2 brolly and skull cap with sides it does reduce the condensation but still obviously get some. Leave a letter box opening on the door also helps. But all as said depending on weather outside. And definitely a full groundsheet
