I have an issue with my ridge monkey quad stove , I'm using Coleman's cp500 canister ( new one) the stove keeps cutting out and making a popping noise anyone experienced this issue

It's Ridgemonkey, throw it in the bin and buy a Primus stove.

You say buy primus but I've had exactly the same problem with my spider 2 and a later easyfuel, as soon as the gas gets below half way it pops and burns badly, i cleaned the jets and even replaced the pipe but it still persists so i ditched it and bought a soto fusion trek instead, same gas and zero problems now ........primus aren't what they once was unfortunately which is a shame as i loved my early himilaya stove but stupidly sold it.

Exactly, the older primus are truly excellent but the newer stuff is a bit hit or miss now. I wish I'd done a bit more research before buying the spider as there's plenty of information about the issues but i got blind sided by previous good experiences.

Thats exactly what happens to my mates,he bought the easy fuel stove after seeing mine.I have had mine years and it's never missed a beat yet his has been terrible and so have Primus customer services

the base camp in Peterborough are very helpful on primus stoves (and carry previous models). I bought an older easyfuel model from them at a good price. has been good since purchase, albeit only a couple of months.
