I'm looking to buy a new spod reel and I have been looking at the sonik spod reel which is like £45 for the reel and loaded with braid.
This sounds too good to be true, surely it's no good?

Has anyone used one or own one and would you reccomend?

I've got one. It's the first item of Sonik tackle I've had as I was always wary of their gear. I needed a spod reel at short notice, so nipped in AD, and this seemed the best of the budget options. I've used it on a few trips and it's been fine so far, smooth and nice to use. Time will tell on reliability
