I have the lipo on mine that the manufacturers say weigh about 2kg. The std LA weigh about 4.5kg for the same range.
The technicalities of them is lost on me im afraid

Thanks for the reply, i know about weights. Its when read into charging pouches, balancing, dont leave unattended. Are they worth the trouble and go with the heavy buggers...lol

A lot of that is arse covering. I stand mine in the pouch and have never stood there watching mine charge and the balancing is done by the charger. If you're worried, just charge it on a concrete floor

If you Google 'lipo explosion' that will show some videos what can happen.
I wouldn't touch the cheap lipos that come with some of these kits with a bargepole... I have heard the same issues about balancing when charging too.
You can get lipo bags that should be used when charging them in case they go up in flames and storage is also something to consider.
It might never be an issue, but I wouldn't like to have it on my mind at all. A couple of kg difference won't make much difference on a barrow anyway.
I think it's much better with something like LiFePO4 which is the safest type of lithium battery available

Everything has its dangers but most things we do like drive without thinking about it too much. With a lipo the most important thing is have a decent suitable charger as it balance the charge and switch itself off once charging is complete.

I'm wary of taking unnecessary risks when there are better alternatives. Cheap lipos are a risk no matter what charger is used.
I drive a car with airbags and seat belts, and protect myself and those around me as much as possible. If there was a safer alternative to a car which did the exact same thing and didn't have a risk of turning into a fireball then the majority of sensible people would use that instead.
Lipos aren't so great, they don't like cold weather for starters so the range gets significantly reduced.
They are the cheapest lithium option for a reason imo.

How many mobile phones , laptops, I pads, have had blow up up on you. Your seat belt ,air bags ect are all just safety aids same as buying a decent lipo and proper charger with built in safety features and charging in a lipo safe box/ bag in a suitable area. I'd be willing to bet most of the lipo explosion videos are due to user error either using poor chargers, abusing the battery or using a battery of the wrong rating for the device.
Your car has all the safety features but you didn't just go out and buy it and drive it without first learning the highway code and having lessons. The problem with most of us is we buy something and rarely read the user instructions properly and follow them to the full.

Laptops and phones use lipo pouches and not hard cells. They are also tested to a much higher standard than hobby grade lipo packs, I could even grab some lipo cells and shrink wrap and create my own lipo packs.
By the time you have paid for a decent charger and lipo packs, lipo sacks etc then you may as well consider a better-all-round solution

Used lipos from hobby king for years as do my palls and most of the RC lads use them for cars planes etc the scaremongering stories are pathetic cut and paste comments .My bag gets thrown around like the rest of my gear .Maybe some of the rip off battery suppliers like to put people off buying much cheaper lipos .All battery's can ignite

Exactly that, I've used lipos in airsoft for years, never had a problem, only time i have seen problems have been user error
