Morning chaps, I'm after some glass spheres to make my pop up mix more buoyant. What exactly am I searching for? I've had a bit of a google but seeing different ones from 3m, want to make sure I get the right stuff

They're not straight forward to use mate as far as I'm aware. Very light airborne product. Face masks are more than likely an advisory.

I believe 3m make them but never looked into it only what I've read. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can shed more light on the topic.

What pop up mix are you using that isnt currently buoyant enough.

Adding raw glass spheres is a dangerous game. Far better to look for a more reliable pop up mix, maybe from baf.

Personally I would steer clear , health and safety wise these are dangerousthings. An alternative is to add Cork granules to your pop up mix, I do this as a matter of routine as I like my pop ups super buoyant.

Hi mate I've been down that route and it's an absolute nightmare and something i wouldn't recommend. I've found Shillham's zig mix to be very buoyant and easy to roll even remains buoyant with an inclusion of 25% of my basemix. May be a better option

I'm using baf pop up mix but want to make some 12mm or even 10's if I can get the mix buoyant enough. I don't see why it's such a big deal? I've used them once before and I wore a respirator mask from my paint spraying days, rubber gloves and ran the glass and pop up mix through a sieve all whilst I'm outdoors.. it literally took 10 mins max and pretty safe as far as I'm concerned? There's different densities and I can't remember which one I got. PM if preferred

I use BAF pop-up mix as it stands for 8 and 10mm pop-ups with no problems.

Are you sure?
