Has anyone on here been to Thailand to fish , done a bit of research and exotic fishing Thailand looks like a good venue , heard a lot of good stuff about Gillhams but it seems to be heavily fished and is always booked up and can be hard going.

I fished Jurassic Mountain in 2018. Had 3 days fishing and I don't think I will ever wet a line in a more beautiful place. The facilities are very good, food is very good also. The fishing is expensive but to be expected, sure we paid about £700 each for 2 night's accommodation and 3 days fishing but that included all tackle, pellets and 3 meals a day. You get to chose a breakfast lunch and dinner off the menu but can have steak and chips 3 times a day if you want. The Gillies are very helpful and knowledgeable, they will radio through to the bar to get you a beer or food delivered to your swim if you don't want to reel in.
The fishing can be quite prolific at times, we just chilled out pub chucking and still had over 10 fish a day but if you want to put a load of effort in and move etc you can really bag up. I managed to land one of the big Siamese in there at 75kg. I'll go back one day to avenge losing a big Arapima 😩

Have fished Gillhams and cant fault the facilities and fish, also visited Jurassic carp but thats in a different area to the two you mentioned but looks nice.
Certainly worth doing, there a fair few other cheaper fisheries around Thailand, were you can catch ariapiama and big catfish for a fraction of the price of Gillhams but the facilities are not always that great.

been to gillhams twice, cannot recommend it enough. Superb lake, friendly people, decent tackle, fantastic guides and huge fish if you get lucky!

Went to Palm Tree Lagoon in 2019, you don't stay on the complex but they put you up in a lovely hotel that's 15mins away. They pick you up on the morning and drop you off in the evenings, the venue is nothing like Gillhams BUT it holds some massive fish and no where near Gillhams money.
If you're with a group of blokes and just want to catch big fish, go Palm Tree, if you're taking the wife / girlfriend, go Gillhams !

Gillham resort also doesn't allow any outside visitors during the night. A good idea in general but Thailand can be a place full of temptation.

if you want that sort of thing, the local town Krabi is only 15 mins away and you'll have everything you want there. Not for me though, if i am paying top money for fishing there, there is no way i would be on the town at night
