I am looking at buying a set of either Daiwa longbow x45m in 3.5tc or the Century adv1's in 3.2/5 has anyone had any experience with either of the above and what test curve. Unfortunately my local ish shops have limited stock of rods so it looks like I'll have to do it via mail order, but I don't want something that's going to be like broom stick.

I have the ADV 1s, probably the best set of rods I've owned. Great all round rods that do everything 👍

Why do longbow blanks 'click ' on casts?
A friend is on his second setcand they both have this 'feature'.

I don't think Daiwa are worth the money in my opinion
Had lots of rods over the years. I still think century are the best carp rods available followed closely by Harrison.

Not sure if relevant in this case but "clicking" when casting indicated a worn/loose spigot or ferrules.
ferrule wax was often applied as a temporary fix.

I would choose Century over Diawa.
But would buy a mint secondhand set
