Could do with a new weigh sling, I fancied a mesh one and saw the avid one, looks decent but a mate said he's had issues with some avid luggage not lasting. Can anyone comment? any other good alternatives? Doesn't have to be a flotation onee BTW,

I have Aqua, Trakker and Cotswold slings, all floating. I use the Aqua one the most, it's not a full mesh one and I think it's a bit better for the fish. Trakker one is bombproof, the Cotswold one is massive.

Take a look at the Wychwood one, really nice bit of kit. It's mesh, floats and comes with a really decent oversized stink bag to put it in.

I've deliberately stayed clear of a mesh one, concerned about hooks and other stuff getting caught in it.
Also being mesh I can see it deteriorating and not lasting 25 years like my last weigh sling

I think the biggest problem with mesh is it seems to encourage “foaming up”

I'd recommend looking at the ESP retention sling.
I think it's a great bit of kit at a good price.

I ordered the nash one after doing a bit of research, the basic one with two bands of reflective material. Looked simple and well made.
