Had these for about a year they have been great. Just got back from France and had to wash them. Washed them at 20 degree delicate wash below recommended inside them.
Issue is now they are no longer fully waterproof and do allow moisture to soak through, should i expect this and if so what are the best products out there for rewaterproofing them after washing.

Storm comes as a two part wash and rebproofer, personal I use it on my goretex bike suits and think it's better than nickwax.

IF ? you used normal detergent washing powder or liquid thats the reason detergent buggers waterproofing up
you should only ever wash waterproofs in pure SOAP liquid or flakes as sold in Wilko`s and other places or of course products by manufacturers specifically for waterproofs as 90% of the time it rejuvenates the original proofing and restores the beading properties

As Gerry says detergents especially bio also damage the glue in the taped seams.

Fear you may have f**ked them if using standard detergent. . .give them another wash with a dedicated Nikwax/Grangers wash and then chuck them in the dryer on a v low heat. Get a cup of water, tip over the jacket and see if any of the DWR remains (water will bead up) . . .if not spray them with a DWR (Nikwax TX Direct or Grangers Repel or Storm) and repeat the dryer process. If still no bead up try Fabsil Gold - if that fails bin em!
You could also try a product called Diver Daves Repel - well recommended on another site but haven't tried it myself - it does contain fluorocarbons which most if not all of the main manufacturers have now ditched for eco reasons but it def works better if your not as bothered about saving the planet etc . . .

I had a set of waterproofs that after a couple of years leaked like a seive.
I hung them in the garage and fabsill'd the life out of them - not the right way to do it, but stayed waterproof for another 2 years
