Has any of you chaps got one of these Saber pods and if so what do you make of it?
Its only a cheapo at £50, but I'm thinking about a bit of a campaign next year on a new water which is far less secure than my club waters and I don't particularly want to take some of my better tackle there.
Appreciate any feedback.

Just bought the Sonik SKS 3 Rod Pod for £33 from AD on sale. Which is exactly the same as this.

Far sturdier than I expected, rock solid.
Good purchase into the ground and can easily put a bivvy peg over one of the centre bars for extra confidence 👍

I think that one from sonik is the same as the Saber Low Pro Pod here,

But the Compact pod is the same frame with shorter arms, but at 39 quid you really can't grumble. 👍

The one thing I would do is buy the 3 rod version over the 2 rod even if you only use two rods as the buzz bar offers better rigidity.

It does both 2 and three rods. In two rod mode you just lose the bars and pop the alarms on the sticks, but I saw a review on youtube of it blowing over on a stage, so it has to be pinned into the ground in 2 rod which shouldn't be a problem. I like it.

I have just purchased one recently and is my first ever pod so can't compare it to any others but to me it's perfect and like you I'm on a less secure water so don't mind if anything happened god forbid

Have you looked at the slightly less cheapo Saber Terrain X? I bought one for exactly the same reasons as yourself (less secure water with staging) and only use it with two rods; tbf I like it as you can put an M6 decking screw through the stabiliser on both front and back job done - you can also splay the fronts and have the rears nice and tight - korda singles not!

cheapest I can see that is £114 on spank bay. Looks like a rip off of Keith's trident (which I owned and loved for many years) and I wouldn't buy it on principle for that reason alone.

Thanks Chris, you know what mate, I missed out on the fox quattro pod thing decades ago because I owned a stainless Trident and my current pod works in a very similar way with upright sticks. I've just always fancied one of those goal post pod arrangements, but I'll give it you that it looks good 👍

To be honest I was looking at the cheapy Saber because I still own 2x Quattros and a Jag Super Compact adjustable - only reason I bought the Terrain X was that I don't have a similar Trident type set up and it looked easy to screw into a staging without additional stage stands / the centre bar etc - either way I'm quite impressed with Saber products (for the price point) - let me know how you get on with the pod!

I had this last year mate and it was a good little pod for the price.
can be a pain to get it set up and level as its a bit floppy, particularly in the 2 rod format. but for the price you cant grumble.
I upgraded to the new Jag pod as more suited for my fishing but i have kept this as like you i fish some waters where using the jag may be too risky.
