I'm looking for a venue to go with a mate and our sons (age 10), we went to Whelford pools a few weeks ago and had a great couple of days. We had carp rods out and the boys spent their time catching roach and perch on a whip in the margins.
We're planning our next trip and looking for another venue.
I'm based in South Wales and he's in Gloucestershire so looking for something either in South Wales or West of England (can go as far as the Cotswolds again).
Needs to be somewhere we can fish for carp and the boys have enough silver fish to go at. Can be day ticket or exclusive hire just need to have enough space so the boys don't annoy others fishing.
Any suggestions? I did think of Tar farm at Linear, little far to go but booking swims helps. Wasn't sure if any silvers in there though?

Not any more. Very anti children now. Used to be my go to place with my son but no longer allowed. All lakes are now carp lakes and most have lodges on them (except Willow I believe). Was once a wonderful venue to take children but no longer the case, sadly. Something to consider is lake exclusive venues, I can recommend Seymour Fishery having taken my son a couple of years ago. The Pit over at White Springs could be a decent option for you

That's a shame, had looked there before but couldn't work out if the lakes allowed kids or not. I guess not!
Not a big fan of White Springs to be honest, doesn't feel like the most relaxing place to fish.
