Anyone take them out and use something else ??
I like a firm bed and have tightened up my bungees twice now. To the point where I'm struggling to get then any tighter. I know Trakker did the ELS bed that used rope across the lumbar area, but has anyone used something else ?? We use very large zip ties at work and I was wondering if they would be better.
I use an Avid Benckmark X sleep system.

Replace the bungee in the middle section with paracord, leave it a little bit saggy so you don't roll off it.

I put large plastic cable ties in the middle section of my bedchair. Worked at treat and cheap too.

Has there been any recorded incidents of the frame bending through the use of cable ties? I've a RLX flat and it's light so presumably the tube walls are thinner....

This is good, exactly what i did with my SS3 and SS4, only problem now is its pulling the eyelets out of the material, having said that it gets tons and tons of use !

You need to leave more sag in it so the weight/pressure is evened out across all the eyelets.

Thanks guys. I'm doing 72 hours next week and will see how the re tightened bungees perform. If they don't, then zip ties it is.

Buy the releasable cable ties if you over do it tightening them up you can back them off, saves cutting them off and having to redo them.
