I've been using braid and leadcore for a few seasons but change of venue forces change, no leadcore no braided main lines.
I borrowed my cousins reels loaded with 15lb Gardner gthd and it feels like an elastic band.
Is fluoro the only way to go? Thanks.

Shimano technium is quite low stretch

Best line I've ever used, I use it in 15lb

I think Shimano technium is the lowest stretch I've used.
Currently in Berkeley CM90 and find that's not bad either.

I could be wrong but i think p line extrusion has the lowest stretch of the mono lines.

Had the same conundrum recently and went onto the p line extrusion in .40. Still has stretch but far less than any other mono I've ever used.

Pre stretched mono as the name says is pre stretched taking most of the stretch out of it before you buy it. Great for feeling the lead down etc but the less stretch left in a mono the less shock absorbsion it has. Less shock absorbs ion obviously makes it easier to crack off on the cast unless using a shock leader or uping the bs to compensate or casting smoothly and building into the cast progressively. Have spoken to many casting guys that have tried the line in question and some liked it when used with a leader, other said they had to up the diameter higher than their normal mono when not using a leader to compensate for the lack of shock absorbsion. Would appear to be trial and error to see if it suits your style of casting.

Been using korda long chuck, pre stretched with leader, super line casts brilliant, probably not what u need near weed etc
