Looking for recommendations for a good cradle that packs down small !

If you mean a metal framed cradle the Saber Everlevel is pretty compact and lightweight as well as being well padded etc . . dries quicky and packs down well - only 3kg

I've got a big nash one, but increasing I'm thinking about going back to one of these

Have a look at the Advanta Discovery CX Rehab Cradle Unhooking Mat from Angling Direct. I have the XL. A lot of people have rated these very highly.

I have been using a Leeda Rogue cradle for 2 years, small, light and big enough for fish to 35lb

Funny you should say that. I got one of them or similar for dad as it's so light and simple. Whenever we are fishing together we use his mat as often we are on sloping ground and it's just so light and easy.
