Recently got told my current weigh sling (Daiwa Black Widow) wasn't within the rules of a water I want to fish regularly (it doesn't have a rigid top bar). They were kind enough to lend me one for my first session, but it was a massive great bulky thing with floats and not something I'd want to own as would be just another item to store and carry. Looking online basically every sling seems to feature floatation devices that will make them too chunky for my needs. I liked the black widow as it packs down nice and small being essentially just a sack, so I'd carry it in my tackle holdall. My one bug bear was it didn't have a stink bag. I say liked as went to another venue this weekend and can't find the thing at all, must have left it at the new place somehow. So no question I need to buy a new one!
I'm aiming to carry the new sling with my net inside my scope rod hold-all, so it needs to packdown into a slim tube shape no more than 44 inches long. Want one that come with its own stink bag.
The Korda Basix one looks pretty close to what I'm after although it doesn't seem to come with a stink bag.
Any other suggestions?

Look no further ,than the NGT..weigh sling with bars,comes with solid arms ,rolls up nicely into its own little sleeve if you want .
I use a KN happy hooker weigh sling ,as I allow these..types.. your right a lot of the floatation, retention sling things over kill,for sure ..

Jrc cocoon 2G weigh has solid metal bar but no floats on the top of it can either fold it in half or leave it full length comes in a stink bag as well

Would be absolutely perfect, if only it wasn't 47.2 inches - too long to fit in my rod hold-all.

Sounds like a winner! Have you got one? - looks like the whole thing comes apart, is the bag just for the mesh slign itself or for the whole thing assembled with the bars?

Yep I have one the bars pulls apart in the middle so it's half the length then all fits in the stink bag

I'm looking for a new non floatation sling as well but I'm wary of the mesh versions as I'm concerned with hooks getting caught.

I've ordered the JRC cocoon as recommended but I did see one called the Gardner Specimen Weigh Sling (Large) that also seemed a good bet and is made of sheet fabric. It's actually the sheet material that put me off it, prefer the mesh fabric of the JRC.

Korda do a one in their basix range that looks like it made just from nylon material and folds in half

Yes I saw that one. It has two short handles which I like, it makes carrying the fish back to the water easier. But I also want two longer straps so the fish is closer to the ground when weighing.
What I really want is the original Fox safety weigh sling they made years ago but they stopped making that a long time ago. It's what I have now but it looks do knackered.
