I guess he means something like the Korda Kamakote - in my opinion, it doesn't make sense to add it to the hooks in the packet, instead the angler should be adding it to the hook before casting it out.

Vaseline is rubbish imo. You need to go wax based for proper protection. Although that Korda stuff is quite effective (better than Mucilin, Vaseline, Lypsyl etc).

His furniture wax sticks are brilliant tbf, it lasts an absolute age and protects the points very well indeed, I bought two sticks from Jason a good number of years ago and there's still many hundreds of hooks worth of protection left the sticks!

Exactly. Knowing how OCD Jason is, he'll have tried all sorts to arrive at “the” product to use. If anything else was better, he'd be selling that. Like you say, the sticks will last donkey's years and are only a few quid.
