Closed up and owner retired, bad news for their many fans. Think they only produced 2 models of carp rods but were very highly regarded for their beach casting rods. Used prices are already rising if you can find them in good condition.

The number of Zziplex rods we sold when I worked at Viscount Tackle.
Regularly had John Holden in the shop, and if someone came in to look at high end beach rods while he was there we inevitably sold a Zziplex.
I did have a look at the carp rods, was seriously considering them, but loved my Armalites.

From what I've read Barbara Carol has decided to retire and close the company keeping their legacy in tact. Glad to see she hasn't just sold the company off.

I think this just shows how much they all value the reputation of the name zziplex and was probably Terrys wish. I wonder what will happen to the mandrills and Lee.

Hope Lee will keep the mandrels and make spares for owners if required.
