hi all,

handed in my notice at work and am hoping for a few weeks off before starting a new role, so i am thinking of going on a French adventure for 3/4 nights.

Looking for some venue suggestions

Ideally public/low cost water
Nothing too big or wild as I have no boat facilities or equipment for casting 130+ yards
2 hours max from Calais
Chance of a few bites. Not interested in catching 60 after 60 but a decent average size would be great

I suppose as "english" of a venue as you can get

You're probably best to head over to Abbey lakes

Looking at their website it appears not, pretty sure they were a day ticket set up, perhaps not anymore then??

The price for weekends and shorter trips for most lakes is on the price list page. Looks like you can't book shorter sessions on Atilla or Frog, they may be fully booked.

Get on the Somme Canal and travel light and be prepared to move if no bites or signs of Carp.
I would happily move as many as 8 times in a 4 day period if no signs.
Good luck wherever you go.

You've got a lot of canals in that area packed with carp.
Pick one and be ready to move a couple a times a day to find the fish.
It will be worth it!
