I've got some Shimano baitrunners but after using some others I realised they don't cast as well. I'm not in Basia territory but what big pit reels are the best value between £100 and £200?

If these had a shimano or daiwa badge on they would be triple the price.They are better than any of the cheaper range of them easily,super smooth drag,strong and reliable with excellent line lay

You don't need to to £100, not when Shimano Beastmasters can be got for around £60-70.

I use them myself, decent cranking power, nice to play fish on, and the front baitrunner spool is easy to get used to.

Another vote and thumbs up for the Penn's. Had them for quite a few years now and they have never missed a beat. Definitely feel like a much more expensive reel. When they finally give up I won't hesitate to get another set

If you want a bargain , Mitchell Avocast do a job , I picked up 4 x 7000 , and 3 X 8000 in black edition , and apart from the fact I can't get spare spooks they are very good , good line lay 👍.
