I know it's history, but you know we used to get a sunlounger bedchair under a 50inch brolly back in the 1980/90's.

Remember it well but times have changed, it's more the coverage as I'd be going from a fast n light to the korum.

I've not tried with mine, but I think if it was a small bed chair you might be able to depending on how you pegged it down. I tend to peg mine down quite narrow to squeeze a bit of extra height from the peak at the front, but you could do the opposite to get more width. The central pole would stop you having a bed chair right to the back of the shelter though. You'd have the bed across the middle/entrance and then your stuff at the back of the shelter.

I have the older version of this brolly with the metal ribs.
It's a very compact shelter and I mostly sit under it on a low recliner chair.
I have used a small bedchair under it a few times but it's a real squeeze.
I have completely removed my centre pole (it was unscrewable, different design?) and just used side storm poles.

I squeeze my bedchair under the Pentalite, so can't see any issues.

Am I right in thinking you can actually unscrew the center pole fully and just use storm poles as you would a normal oval.

It's has a hinge so you can swing it down vertically out of the way, but I've never tried to detach it (it's not obviously seemed an option to detach it).
Thinking about it, not having it swung down might give you room for the bed chair at the back (although you'd have the pole going above you which might make it a faff to get in and out).

They have a new version of this out now.
Looks to be the same dimensions but as the older one discussed below but with the mechanics of the river brolly which is very good.
Very tempted to get one to use on a water with narrow banks with a small bed.
