This might be the daftest but serious question ever posted on Carp forum, but with such limited experience of sleep systems I have to ask as I'm picking one up on Sunday!
My only experience is a few nights under a Nash sleep system that got launched onto eBay as fast as possible as, although it was comfy my size 13 feet had no room at all at the end of the bed! A bit like a hotel bed where they tuck the sheets in that tight, you need a gym session and personal trainer in order to pull it out so you feet can move
Anyway, can you totally remove the acutual sleep system part and put a sleeping bag on on the ned like a traditional Bedchair or does the zips etc. get in the way?

really depends on the manufacturer , fox ones zip to the base of the bed but you can still clip a sleeping bag around that once you have removed the sleep system. Same with the solar one just unclip the sleeping bag and then add a bag of your choice. Ive got size 12 feet and although i dont sleep with my trainers on ive not really struggled with being restricted by the bag on either of those systems. Cant speak for nash one never owned one.

I've got a Nash ss3 sleep system I found it too restrictive so took the bag off. I didn't want to spend the money on a new system so got a SIM and a new bag. I had a Gardner carp compact duvet. I found I didn't like the zip or the size as I like to have the bag open with an overlap to keep out the draught. I've now got a fox ventec bag to go on the SIM and it does all I need.
