The bloke disappeared for a while, comes back looking gaunt and getting stressed about total rubbish. Seems a bit edgy and like he might be struggling to me

I see it too I also see these anglers doing stuff which i find funny fishing for foreign fish at bluebell maybe or taking good money off people for tuitions lol he needs to remember why the scene is where it is and why he's probably earned a decent living from it

I happened to come across it yesterday very sad indeed. Feeling the need to slag other people of for claiming certain rigs when that's how is made his living all his life seems bizarre to me. I didn't see many people ripping him a new one when he decided to name the “basic complicated rig”. It comes across very sour that he is no longer flavour of the month in the angling community. There is so much s**t going on in the world and he genuinely looked like he was going to have a breakdown in his bivvy yesterday because someone had claimed they invented the “half withy”. He has contributed his fair share of s**t to make a living out of it over the years but seems to begrudge other folks doing it.

I'm not on Facebook for a reason. However I feel a man who makes a living from an industry, might feel undermined by other people taking his ideas and "re-inventing" them in their own image. Especially if it's his main source of income in these times of. general hardship.

He gave me a load of verbal when I pointed out that a Bradkeys 'original' that he was claiming was in fact a stock fish, fact. Blocked me after getting irate. Odd character

He might be getting stressed out about a rig but he isn't wrong about the idiots in carp fishing who have been fishing 2 minutes
I no a lad who started carp fishing less than 2 years ago with a very rich dad who doesn't have to work a day in his life also has no intention to and he goes fishing 2/3 days a week he isn't a idiot though a nice lad 🤣 but the point is the same he is all about social media calls himself “the new generation” of carp fishing, he doesn't tie his own rigs Ive helped him with that plus others now and doesn't even no how to feel the lead down, guess what he is sponsored by mainline and various tackle companies.
He is a nice lad just making my point that anyone can do it now

Agree, for a long time now it can be bought in a bag
The sad side is, people are more attracted to the fame and fortune side than a real passion for big old carp for me. That's the difference. Instants, just add water

Exactly who actually cares. Like anything things evolve, too many old gits stuck in their only little carp fishing realm/bubble thinking its some precious secret mystical complex past time. Its not. Alot of sad men probably with no wives or gf and definitely no sex life. I find it quite sad to be honest how seriously its all taken now now, GROWN men moaning over social media. Very very very sad. So you may have invented a rig but the actually act of catching carp ...i don't think so. Get over yourselves you sad bank tramps. Its fishing just go out and enjoy it and embrace it and help others.

I like Steve Renyard, very good angler, can catch in a puddle but this rant is bizarre, he doesn't look right either, obviously has a dry mouth, not saying he's pi$$ed or on something but hope he's OK.
Think the old school have to accept that with social media nowadays these young, eager lads are going to get a lot more coverage, if they reinvent the wheel that's probably inevitable, just accept it and move on...nobody "invented" any rigs in carp fishing, its all just a variation on a bit of line and a hook....
I was using a pike float to suspend a bait mid water before anyone else on my Syndi at the time and before it was in the Mags, (no Facebook or Insta then) and showed 4 or 5 chaps how to tie it....but that was just a variation on a Catfish rig I had seen....
