My lake is full of this stuff,I've this week started baiting a spot in getting a drop on but I'm pulling the tall weedy stuff back in,I imagine the drop is the lead falling between the weed,
I'm thinking a chod rig is gonna be my best bet in this situation over say a spinner/Hinge rig ? Hoping the fish can get on my pre bait and clear the spot

If it's top to bottom even a chod can struggle. Much better finding low lying areas or making a decent spot to present on.

Possibly a solid PVA bag to be able to crash through it onto the bottom ?

Personally I wouldn't no. On long sessions you may be lucky for the carp to find it but much better off doing some leg work first and making some spots. They'll feed on the weed no doubt but Canadian will grow top to bottom.

This place is pretty much chocked with the stuff mate,I'm fishing 9 wraps to try keep it nice and clean once I get it clear,I think I may have to rake it 🤣 I've pre baited it this past week but their not long out of spawning must be close to switching on now though it's a patrol route they use so I'm sure they will stop at it,just trying to work out what rig to use to suit the situ in and around that Canadian is my struggle

In those situations I prefer to use a hinge stiff rig on a helicopter set-up. Semi stiff boom section to lay over the weed and ensure the hook bait is presented

Yep been doing just that mate weed rake ordered think I'll start on chods until my rake arrives then get to work 🤣

A chod is the last thing you want imo. If your lead is dropping between heavy weed you're likely to end up fishing miles off the deck. Chod's are ideal for areas of low lying weed/silk weed, not fishing in swathes of canadian.
The whole point of baiting in these circumstances is to clear a spot and that's likely to take more than a week. Fishing it now isn't going to do you any favours. Keep baiting with seed and don't fish it until it's presentable.
Or find a spot that you can present properly on elsewhere.

Tall Canadian is also a harder to clear off through feeding than the low lying stuff and silk weed. Feeding off will require commitment. Raking is effective but can be very obvious from the bank. You also need to pick your time and place to avoid pee'ing other anglers off.
There will be natural spots in the weed, I would hunt them out 1st. If you get a drop with a small pva bag you should be fishing.

Tied up some lead clips with 15inch semi stiff booms,gonna get back down tomorrow and lead the entire swim see if I can find some low lying weed

Fished a low stock water with lots of Canadian in it, used a 4oz breakaway sea lead, cleared a few small areas, chopped my boilies in half so they fluttered down in the water getting stuck in the Canadian at all depths, bit like a Christmas tree effect, match the hatch pop ups, ( washed out look), on stiff hinge rigs, worked a treat, hope this helps.
