Does any one know where you can buy decent Velcro props to hold the bottom of the rear vent out on bivvys etc?

Army Andy does some that I have already but they are made out of cardboard I think so when in use they just bend

Could you not reinforce them

Like branders said you could try the old fashioned coat hanger wire

Shouldnt really have to fix them though should he.

Have you gone back to army andy and raised it with him?

Freebie chop sticks from Wasabi snapped to size could do the job to re-enforce the card?

Not got back to Andy about them, they were only £4 I think so not overly fussed

My old chub weigh sling had a couple of metal bars you could Velcro across the 2 side bars to keep the top of the sling open when using as a retainer so was wondering if anyone made something like this?

If not I'll just go back to drinking 2 cans of beer and using them like I used to 😂

There not a bad idea 👍🏻 If I can't find a bar that I can leave in the vent then I'll definitely consider these

What about someone with a knackered brolly you could use the ribs 👍

I made a support bar out of one a few years ago as the front of my bivvy was sagging a little so I use a cut down rib to spread the poles apart

Try using a small strip of say a plastic milk bottle, form strip in to a Z shape and add self adhesive zelcro to the bent legs. Can be made any length as required.
