Hi all since late August last year I've suffered with knee pain
I've been unable to get to see a doctor 😤
Walk in to hospital to be told to make appointment through doctors so I did
Got sent for a x-ray end off November
Results after me phoning them, nothing wrong 😤
Phoned again on new year, you can have a call back, ok
Got told bone on bone rubbing,
how do you know that ?

But I was told nothing wrong from the x ray
Take this and that 😤😤
Made another appointment and got sent to hospital
Appointment made for mri scan
Results couple of weeks ago are torn medial meniscus and something wrong with medial collateral ligament
Week later, where do you want referred too. How do I know that 😤😤
50 year old, hardly ever been doctors, paid a fortune in taxes and pissed off
Never actually seen a doctor because I couldn't get an appointment
All I seen was two nurses who both said that doesn't look right. One sent me for x ray other for mri scan

But would you consider going private and paying to get yer life back ?

You could see a private consultant, he will have access to your notes and what they have detailed so far, he can make an accurate diagnosis if he is satisfied with the information he has. Sounds like the NHS have told you this though?
If you pay private for an operation I guess you are looking at a few K. It will be a few hundred quid for a consultation. The benefit is, if the consultant can do the operation you will get in quicker since he will be doing the op. Otherwise it's a wait on the NHS
If it bothers you that bad, do it, I once did with a sinus problem, was getting nowhere at the time

If money allows,I'd definitely go private,there's nothing worse than a long term injury and associated pain..which if left untreated could be made worse..
I had an injury,the NHS ,was very very poor ,the dithering made the situation worse..I went private,cost £145, for an xray,three short £30 sessions afterwards,plus I didn't need a operation like I was initially told..luckily ,I was able to exercise my way out of the issue..but others may not have been so lucky..
I thought the NHS was meant to be accessible to all,but nowadays ,this is not the case..and as a side note,I hear of someone local to us ,who died of cancer,through late diagnosis ,ie the doctors refused to look at them,...but that's another issue..
I will say one thing ,a lot of people have lost faith in the NHS,they good at doing tic tok dance moves though..

I've already had a phone consultation and have a face to face appointment week after next
If i agree to what's needed at next appointment it will be 6 weeks i was told yesterday
They can have access to my x-ray/mri scan results

That's the standard technique of privatization: defund, make sure things don't work, people get angry, you hand it over to private capital.

One of my wife's relatives has just paid for a knee op,he was in so much pain he could not take anymore.Im not sure what was exactly wrong but it cost him over 15grand

All planned eh Paul..not much happens by chance.. and Tony,same as my boss,right knee replacement,private hospital ,no idea of cost ,but he was walking again in three weeks..huge scar though...he's probably out on his bike right now..

1725,it's wrong mate on all levels..you've paid all your life into a system that's corrupt and supports people that have paid nothing ..
The gap widens between the haves and have nots,the elites in what ever shape or form progress, I see it every day ..
In another sphere,2.5 million pound houses ,locals on the breadline,second homes rule..
Homelessness everywhere,many through no fault of their own..
Broken Britain,greedy corrupt system ..and still more people coming into this small overpopulated island..
It's what the elites want,servitude and control by fear,fear of no money ,or job ,or health provision, fear and scaremongering..!

I was the same, doctor after doctor, nothing wrong with your really, well I wouldn't be here if there wasn't would I you cock. In the end I said **** it, I would see a specialist. Saw the specialist, main man in the department at the time, paid for the consultation myself but he got me though on the NHS, on a cancellation at the time

The way I see it, if you are 50, I am assuming, forgive me you're not yet retired?
If this persistent pain is effective your ability to work, then the longer it's left, the more of a financial consequence there may be and as such, private would in effect be limiting that. Have you been quoted for the operation? Frequently the NHS is paying private practice to alleviate waiting times etc could this be an. Option?

When going private the chances is it will be the same surgeon providing the treatment as it would be on the NHS just doing it on overtime.

Very true, the surgeon I eventually saw about my knees said if you had paid you would have seen me a year earlier. Nothing he could do for me unfortunately, and I never even got a believable explanation of how I could do a sub 3 hour London to Brighton in June, be even fitter by September, then have to lock my knees and rock my hips to take a flight of stairs by december
