Hi I am going France next year, will the Daiwa Emblem BR 25A Reels be good enough for the job? Also I'm looking at buying the nash dwarf 10ft 3.5lb test curve???

For the vast majority of lakes in France you can use exactly the same gear as you do over here. No need to to and spend a load of money on new gear. So the full answer depends on where you are fishing. If a normal pay lake then you are probably fine. Fishing rivers or a bit public water then maybe you need to change

I haven't decided yet, but I want one of the big boys. Atm in using 2.72lb test curve rods with shimano st 10000 baitrunners spooled with 28lb line

28lb line sounds rather excessive.. at the end of the day they are just carp, not tarpon

Your gear is more than adequate for most situations mate, a lake is a lake regardless of what country it's in... you may struggle to fish at range if that's a concern, but some poker stiff 10ft rods ain't going to change that

I'd forget about new rods etc and spend the money more wisely on bait/beers.

Absolutely bang on. The best advice I can give is choose a lake that suits your style of angling. If you tend to fish 40-60 yards in the UK and have no experience of fishing at range, don't go somewhere where you need to be casting huge distances. Choose to fish to your strengths (there are so many lakes to choose from you will almost certainly find one) and the main thing is enjoy it

you dont need a breaking strain as high as that.

16lb is more than enough
