Hi All,

Any users of this bait on here? I have been considering getting a small amount as I don't use lots of boilies and don't pre bait etc due to fishing quite busy waters.

People I trust, and who I know have appropriate bait knowledge think its very nice, so I'd not be hesitant to recommend it. By all accounts I've been told the lads at rollin are helpful and professional so seems a good bet.

I had their sample pack delivered and had a little play with them Saturday. Personally I think I liked inception the best, followed by the game. Optimum seemed a little hard, harder than I expected anyway. Two bites over 6 rods on a tricky day, one on inception the other on optimum. I think the only thing I learned was that any boilie will work in the right place.

I use ‘The Game' when larger quantities are required but supplement it with a smaller amount of Optimum. I use Optimum in bags, stringers etc as well as paste form. Use with confidence.

I have used the optimum exclusively for the last few seasons and my results have definitely seen a marked improvement. It is a very soft bait due to a reduced boil for the milks so some hard hookers are a must. It's very soluble just drop it into water and have a look after it's been in for half hour. Pearbo I think the sample packs come frozen which is why the optimum was a tad hard?. I haven't used the other baits in the range much at all due to being so happy with the optimum. I have used the dark spell on a few social trips and caught well. Use with confidence mate and you will bag um 👍🏼

Joking aside I did let the optimum thaw out before I made the comparison. If I buy a load of it it'll end up in the freezer as well. I do like the light colour though, light baits have always worked better for me.

I will put some in a cup of water to get a proper idea of them, I've no doubt they are a good bait and a fish on them proved they work.

You don't need a lot to get a bite. I took 5kg with me on an early March two week-long session and, fishing for one fish at a time, caught a PB and, a dozen back up carp. Not cheap, but they use the very best quality ingredients they can source. Developed by (I believe) Dave Moore and John Hallet, who know a thing or two about bait.

Dave Moore's podcast on the carp chronicles is live now. I haven't listened to it just yet but I'm sure they would of talked about the optimum amongst other baits available from Rollinbaits. May be worth a listen 👍🏼

Listened to it today. Good stuff, looking forward to part 2. The dark spell sounds interesting. Might give it a go this summer.

Thanks All,

I've just joined a lake about an hour or so from home so won't be able to pre-bait so was looking for a bait to use on there which I won't have to put lots in (short sessions) and had been considering this.
