I've made a few baiting poles up to 30 meters, yes from electrical conduit. These work on the same principle of the Nash bushwaker pole , and work a treat . Any one else made one and how do you think it performed.

I did the same as you and made one up from electrical conduit and an old bank stick top no nailed in the end for the spoon.
Used for two seasons and after a bit of practice it did the job BUT doesn't change the fact it was a so and so to manoeuvre in any sort of flow/wind and awkward to unscrew and break down.
So bit the bullet and bought a proper one and very glad I did.

I saw one made from conduit with expansion foam squirted in to try sections .

I can't remember how the fella pieced the sections together though .. however if your innovative im sure there are many options .

And cheaper than several hundred pounds .

I've overcome the screw in connections by flaring the pipe and use button clips . As for the wind to be fair I ain't seen any of the Nash videos with the bushwaker being used when it's windy.

I've watched this guy not bad but my idea of flaring the pipe is much better. Takes a bit longer, and you need to get the right size flaring tool . That was the hardest part by the way

It would be interesting to see how you flared the sections.
Im also curious to know how far the male section goes into the female so it's a secure enough fit without any "wobble".

I would say that you would need a piece of dowel the exact same size as the outside of the tube then just heat the pipe with a hair dryer and push the dowel in so it flares out 👍

I've done 30m with conduit pipe and screw joins with expander foam. I use a cygnet scoop and NGT net float.

It's good on short distances (up to 15-20m max) with little wind.

Biggest issue for me is taking the sections apart as I ship them back especially in tight swims.

I think the Bushwhacker would be a lot better and easier than mine. However, mine cost around £50 tops.

I decided to use spring button clips on my DIY pole instead of the screw joint fixings.
Works well.

A push my flaring tool in about 60 mm , using a heat gun bit of practice though and I get it bang on every time . I mark the tool so I get the same every time . Push the two together and drill the hole 20 mm from the edge of the male pole and repeat it .

Spring clips are definitely the way to go, the screw type fittings for conduit are too fiddly and they wear out quickly causing the pole to come apart or not screw in properly.

I followed the guy on u tube and used a short 8" (4" inside leaving a 4" male end) length of 20mm conduit glued inside the end of 25mm conduit, the fit is fairly loose so I used some large bore shrink tube to increase the size of the 20mm conduit.

With the spring clips it seems to work perfectly .

Depending where you buy your conduit from I got mine from screwfix if you scroll down the description it tells you the inside and out dimensions 👍
