I'm after a set of 9ft or 10ft rods, not stiff. I know there are various threads and I've read through, but there are new rods out all the time. I'm happy with 2 piece, or the retractable options around.

I have some Wychwood extricator plus 10 foot rods. Nice rods and not too stiff. I really rate them. I have some Wychwood extricator mit 10 foot rods too that I use for pike fishing. For the money I can't fault them, but as a carp rod the plus version is a much nicer rod.

I have a set of Harrison torrix custom 10' great rods 2 piece very happy with them and for travelling light I have 6' dwarf rods and ninja reels if I'm travelling via public transport I'm sure nash do them in longer lengths oh they also retract as well

Daiwa cast'izm 10ft are very nice fish playing rods and you can easily throw a decent distance with them, i have them in Cork 3.00LB

Have a browse of Cotswold Pace Compacts or higher end Spectra's, I own the Spectra and are nice rods in 3lb and the Pace spod is handy too
Soniks xtractor is nice too and more at the budget end if thats what your looking at and you can get all in cork or other handle finishes

I have 9ft 3lb cork handled scopes. I really like them in comparison the the various 12ft rods I've owned/own, but they're also the only modern 9/10ft rods I've owned (used to use an 8ft fibre glass rod for stalking carp when I was a kid - scopes are a very different beast to that old thing!).

All of the Sonik range are spot on and excellent value, not budget end. If you are going to the Northern show then check them out on the stand

My choice would be some free spirit s range 10 foot 2.5lb bank creepers. Lovely action and beautiful to play fish on.

Imo the best retractable rod for the price is the sonik xtractor or if want to pay more the sonik insurgent
