Hi All,
I've always bought cheap walking shoes for the better weather, but I tend to wear them out in a couple of seasons so wanted to spend a bit more and hopefully get something that will last better. Budget up to £100.
Must be comfortable and waterproof, and easy to slip on and off in the night
What do people use/recommend?

Merrell Moab 2
Goretex liner, decent sole, comes in a shoe or ankle boot version.
I have the ankle boot version, they are lightweight, nimble and comfortable.
A decent well made boot.

I've a pair of Merrell nova goretex trainers and they been great.

I buy these comfy AND waterproof wear them a hell of a lot !!! >> £35 <<<
after 2 years I bin them and buy a new pair I cant in a million years believe that the ones costing £100 more are £100 better than these

I've been buying these or very similar Karrimor shoes for years. Very comfortable and plenty hard enough wearing.

To be honest, I either go in trainers or walking boots, weather conditions and venue dependant. Then at night, I sleep in lightweight Navitas sliders, jobs a good un if you get a take.

Merrels my current pair I've had for two years and wear them daily walking 3-4 km a day.
Karrimor where good but the brand is owned by sports direct and their snow boots last me a year and I don't wear them that often. The ones Gerry recommends may be better but they are no longer a decent long term product. Having owned a few pairs of KSBs over the last 3 decades which would last several years.

tbf I have both pre-Sports Direct karrimor shoes/boots (KSB, eVENT etc) and Sports Direct version and I dont think you can beat the value for money for the latter ... Yes the quality is down, yes they are not totally waterproof (even if they are claimed to be) but as Gerry says, they are almost disposable at the money they sell for .... Personally i prefer a pair of old trainers in the summer though and carry proper waterproof footear for when needed

I had the exact same pair of Karrimor as in Gerrys post, and when only a couples of weeks old I walked round a small lake, there was a heavy dew and my feet got soaked, they were comfortable but I might as well have been bare foot for all the good they were. They are £35 for a reason, and I think are a bit hit and miss with quality, in fact i think i had a similar pair years ago which were ok but iirc the soles wore out quite quickly. I would definitely spend the extra on something you know will keep your feet dry. I'm currently using Grisport which are very good.

tbf to him ive got 2 pairs (different colours) of them and neither are waterproof .... I also have 2 pairs of the boot version and they arent either .... comfortable to wear though
