I'm going to switch from mono to sinking braid mainline on at least one water I'm fishing , iv been looking at either Avid , or Ridge monkey , any one have experience of these 👍 , and any problems in the switch 👍
If your not looking to cast miles look at hydro sink. Upto 100 yards it's brilliant.

The avid stuff looks identical to the Caperlan sinking braid from Decathalon. If it is it's not bad, but loses its colour quite quickly and doesn't sink that well. I think it relies on taking on a bit of water to sink whereas the Hydrosink will sink nicely straight off.

Sorry you are not right. It is only the same as it is camo in colour. The diameter and BS are totally different.

I've used the Avid one and found it excellent for long/ish (up to 120) fishing. Sinks, cuts through Canadian & Milfoil easily. Only Avid product I've ever used, but I've found it impressive.
Can't comment on the Gardner one as I've never used it. Tried a previous Gardner 'sinking' braid in 2010 on Rockford that was a stinking pile of junk (frayed and turned into multistrand) and the green dye that came off it on your hands was a joke.

Nice to see people's views . Yes mainly from a boat , but the main complaint I see on reviews is that people are having trouble to get them to sink 😁 , the point of a sinking braid really .

The Gardner braids have a Kevlar weave, this will sink it wet or dry. Some of the others have a loose weave that takes on water. They will sink but take a bit more work. A sweat band soaked in water over the spool while you are getting everything else ready helps
